Community Work Scheme & Community-at-Work Scheme
Inspired by the success stories through the scheme launched by the Employment Training Corporation (now Jobs Plus) for the engagement of unemployed persons aged 40 and over, BIETA embarked on an in-house initiative, the Community-at-Work scheme whereby our seasoned employees were engaged to do general up keeping tasks on the factories’ boundaries at a subsidized fee and this produced another success story.
“I would like to show our sincere appreciation for the way BIETA has successfully managed the ETC ‘Community Work Scheme’, in such a wonderful manner. Again thank you for providing the opportunity for the scheme’s participants, all over 40 years of age, and thus increasing their employability. This is over and above the way their self esteems and social life gets a boost, which can hardly be measured in financial terms. One last note regards the way we have successfully and smoothly collaborated with Mr. Joe Pisani, BIETA Park Manager. Our relationship via the scheme proved to be an excellent one indeed.” – David Bezzina, Outlook Coop.”
